AEW World Champion Will Ospreay will go one-on-one with Callum Newman at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 21 event in January.
The two were partners at NJPW Power Struggle, but their bid for the IWGP Tag Team Titles fell apart when Newman got their team disqualified by using a chair. Things boiled over after the match, with the pair brawling and Newman challenging the “Aerial Assassin” to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 21.
Tension has been building between them ever since Ospreay put Newman in charge of United Empire and grew unhappy with some of his decisions. Ospreay has been AEW World Champion since August, while Newman made history earlier this year by becoming the youngest-ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
